My approach is:
I also use creative interventions including mindfulness, body-mind connection and intergenerational exploration when appropriate.
- Integrative - combines a number of specialisms specific to the client's individual needs
- Relational - looking at negative dynamics within the client's relationships, past and present, and how these can affect mood. The counsellor-client relationship is a core part of relational therapy and how it can be used to build positive relationships with others outside of the counselling room.
- Psychodynamic - helping the client to understand unconscious behaviour, influenced by past experiences, which is having an effect in the present
- Systemic - enabling the individual to recognise patterns within their relationships with the wider world, such as in a couple, family or community
I also use creative interventions including mindfulness, body-mind connection and intergenerational exploration when appropriate.
